Starting March 1, 2008, I will begin my 101 things in 1001 days challenge. Stay with me to see how much I cross off my list!

Start: March 1, 2008
End: November 27, 2010

1. Volunteer somewhere for at least 1 hour
2. Give $10 to a homeless person or a stranger in need
3. Donate blood at least 2 times
4. Make a donation to a worthy cause
5. Watch a child for free, for at least 2 hours, so that the parent(s) can have a break
6. Send a “just because” care package to a friend
7. Send a “just because” letter to my grandmother and grandfather
8. Give a sincere compliment to 1 person a day for 5 days (must be a different person each time)
9. Work out 3 times a week for 1 month
10. Do at least 1 unassisted pull-up
11. Get a promotion at work (or a new job) that results in a raise started 8/11/08
12. Do not go online for 3 consecutive days 4/22-4/24/08
13. Buy a complete outfit purchased from thrift stores
14. Record total amount of money spent on food for a month
15. Plant something from seed
16. Smile at everyone I see for an entire day
17. Host a girlie sleep-over for at least 2 females
18. Dress in costume for Halloween
19. Fly a kite
20. Put together an emergency kit for the car
21. Call someone I haven’t talked to in at least six months
22. Watch 5 documentaries
23. Read at least 4 books on my personal bookshelf
24. Memorize something and demonstrate it for someone as proof
25. Post at least 3 book reviews
26. Compose a “If something dire ever happens to me” letter and give it to a family member
27. Send at least 10 Christmas cards and write a personal note in each
28. Post an entry about “My personal feelings about weight”
29. Post an entry about my childhood
30. Go to a country where I have to use my passport
31. Ride on a train in the U.S. Weekend of NJ NYC visit, June 2008
32. Sleep outside (in a tent or under the stars)
33. Go on a hike in the mountains
34. Eat a picnic lunch in a park or by a body of water
35. Stay in a haunted hotel room OR visit a place that advertises itself as being haunted
36. Visit Aunt Pat and Uncle Floyd
37. Take a Sisters-Only Getaway
38. Go to a parade or street fair
39. Attend a comedy show 3/28/08
40. Attend a lecture or seminar
41. Visit every exhibit at the zoo in one day
42. Attend a game for each major sports team in Denver
43. Take a horse and carriage ride in downtown
44. Visit the Botanic Gardens every January and June
45. Visit Four Mile Historic Park
46. Visit the Molly Brown House
47. See a concert at Red Rocks
48. Try out a rock climbing wall at least twice
49. Visit the Colorado National Monument
50. Go horseback riding
51. Check out the buffalo herd nature preserve
52. Take a tour of a brewery or winery
53. Go to the county fair
54. Obtain a piece of original art for the wall (bought by myself or received as a gift)
55. Paint a picture
56. Do something crafty

61. See an author read from his or her work
62. Meet at least 2 new bloggers in person, not part of a large group gathering

67. Dress in a way I wouldn’t normally and observe other people’s reactions
68. Start a conversation with a stranger
69. Learn at least 50 Spanish words
70. Learn at least 25 French words
71. Learn at least 25 German words
72. Learn at least 10 Japanese words
73. Learn the correct way to hold and shoot a gun
74. Take a class that features something I’ve never done before
75. Scan and upload photos from when I was young (pre-digital)
76. Post a video on the internet that has me in it
77. Take a photo every day for a month
78. Upgrade and redesign my website
79. Eat 3 things I’ve never tried before
80. Cook at least 1 dish I’ve never made before, at least once a week, for 4 consecutive weeks
81. Make a vegan dessert that is so yummy and delectable that those who eat it can’t tell it doesn’t contain dairy
82. Eat only raw foods for an entire day
83. Visit a Farmer’s Market and make something out of at least 1 of the things I purchase
84. Save $1 a day for 21 days
85. Apologize to someone I’ve hurt in the past
86. Pay for someone’s bill at a restaurant. 3/1/08, 3/20/08
87. Spend no “extra” money for 14 days after any given payday
88. Attend church services every Sunday for three months – no matter what
89. Go to bed by 10 pm for two weeks
90. Write everything with my left hand for one day
91. Complete at least one semester of college courses
92. Don’t use the “f” word for one week
93. Make cookies for my neighbors – just because
94. Make cookies for my boss – just because
95. Bring someone to church that has never been or hasn’t been in a long time
96. Take a picture of each of my children every day for a month
97. Keep my bedroom tidy for two weeks
98. Keep my house tidy for two weeks
99. Walk/jog/run the middle school track in under 15 minutes (4x around)

    Well, I have to say I like your list! (A number of of those things look quite familiar.) Good luck with completing it…I know my list has definitely inspired me to do things that I probably wouldn’t have taken the time to do otherwise. 🙂

    i quite like your list. i think number 100 should be, go skydiving. I myself have accomplished it and it is definately one of the best things i have ever done
