Weather: A surprisingly strong late-spring storm system will whip up some serious wind all around Colorado today, tonight, and tomorrow. A HIGH WIND WATCH goes into effect today and will continue through Thursday morning. Wind gusts could exceed 80 mph in the foothills and could approach 100 mph the mountains atop the highest peaks and passes. Technically Denver is not under the watch however wind gusts could still approach 40-50 mph around the metro area. Temperatures today will top out in the 80s along the Front Range while the Eastern Plains will warm into the upper 80s and lower 90s. High country locations can expect mainly 50s.
